A quintessentially English Christmas in the heart of Dartington.
Christmas at The Cott Inn is all about good food, warm fires and getting together.
Our 700-year-old thatched Devon longhouse makes a wonderfully atmospheric setting for a Christmas celebration, with roaring fires, cosy corners, festive food and the unmistakable feeling of Christmas in a traditional English country pub.
Whether you’re planning a work Christmas party, a group booking or a festive get-together with friends and family, we’ll make sure there’s plenty to eat, drink and enjoy.
Expect festive food with all the trimmings, a warm welcome and a cosy Christmas atmosphere from the moment you arrive. Gather around the table, settle in by the fire and let us take care of the rest.

We will have a wonderful menu of all of the usual festive delights, the decorations will be up and the fizz will be flowing.
Tables of less than 10 people can be booked via our usual online booking system. But if you’d like to create something extra special for groups larger than this please read on below…

We love to host larger gatherings for Christmas and New Years Eve celebrations. Reservations for these tables are handled personally by our experienced team, to ensure we offer you the best experience that is bespoke to your needs.

FAQ
How do I book a Christmas party table?
Please complete and submit the enquiry form below. One of our team will be in touch to confirm whether we can fit you in on your preferred date and time, and if not offer you the next best alternative.
Can we book a meal on Christmas & Boxing Day?
No – We’re not serving food on Christmas and Boxing Day. We’re giving the team a well earned break. We may be open for festive drinks, our Christmas Day opening hours will be published soon.
Do you take a booking deposit for Christmas party bookings?
Yes – A non-refundable deposit of £10 per person is required at the time of booking to secure your Christmas party reservation. Your booking will only be confirmed once the deposit has been received. The deposit will be deducted from your final bill.
How do you handle cancellations?
We regret that we are unable to accept cancellations for Christmas party bookings. As outlined above, the booking deposit is non-refundable.
Do you require pre-orders for food?
Yes – For all Christmas party bookings, we require a pre-order of your party’s menu selections 14 days before your party date. We ask that you provide your party’s menu choices by this date, including any dietary requirements or special requests, so that our kitchen team can make the necessary arrangements in advance.
How do we settle the final bill?
We ask that you pay your final bill at the end of the night, after you meal. To help make your experience as smooth and enjoyable as possible, we ask that the final bill is settled by one person in one transaction rather than being divided between individual guests.
All of the usual payment methods will be available to do this.
Do you add a service charge to the bill?
Yes – A mandatory 10% service charge will be added to the final bill for all Christmas party bookings. All service charges and gratuities are distributed fairly amongst the team who help make your celebration possible.
Can you cater for dietary requirements?
We try our very best to accommodate all dietary needs. But we cannot confirm this until we know your specific requirements. Please include the details on the enquiry form below and one of our team will be in touch to discuss and confirm what we are able to offer.
Can you cater for people with accessibility needs?
We’re passionate about welcoming and accommodating all guests. However, due to the character and age of our 700-year-old building, there are some limitations to what we’re able to offer. Parts of the building can be challenging for guests with limited mobility. Please see this page for full details of our access.
