Yes, we have plenty of parking directly in front of the pub. Please note, the car park can be busy at peak times.  There is parking on the nearby road space, but please only use this if there are no alternatives, and be respectful of local residents and park considerately.

Yes, absolutely. We welcome well behaved dogs in all areas of the pub, including our bedrooms if you’re staying with us.

It’s important to know that we do have a resident pub cat. So your dog will need to be comfortable around cats.

Please also note that, due to the characterful nature of our 700-year-old building, space can be limited and dogs are often in close proximity to other guests, children, and fellow four-legged visitors. To help us maintain the relaxed and welcoming atmosphere we’re known for, we kindly ask that only friendly, well-socialised dogs are brought to the pub.

For everyone’s comfort and safety, dogs must be kept on a lead at all times. Barking dogs will be asked to leave to be considerate to everyone using the pub.

Yes we have one of the only a handful of pub gardens in Totnes. We’re very lucky to have a beautiful outdoor terrace which could be mistaken for a Mediterranean escape when the weather is good.

We also have various covered and heated areas in the garden, offering year-round outdoor dining and drinking spaces.

Dining with us

We take pride in serving delicious, honestly prepared food using the very best ingredients. Expect classic pub dishes with a thoughtful, refined touch, prepared using naturally reared Devon meats, local line-caught fish, and seasonal fruit and vegetables grown in Totnes and the surrounding area, much of it organic.

Yes absolutely, we want to help make your celebration as special as possible. However it’s not uncommon that we have multiple celebrations in any given service. So to keep your cake safely separate from others, and to serve it beautifully to your table, we charge a “cake-age” fee of £20.

Group bookings & special events

Yes we’re happy to host large groups and special events in various areas of the restaurant and outdoor spaces.  Please get in touch to discuss your requirements and we’ll be happy to let you know what we’re able to offer.

Accessibility

We’re passionate about welcoming and accommodating all guests. However, due to the character and age of our 700-year-old building, there are some limitations to what we’re able to offer. Parts of the building can be challenging for guests with limited mobility.

Wherever possible, we will always do our best to seat and accommodate guests in the most suitable areas of the pub. If you have any accessibility requirements or questions before visiting, we warmly encourage you to with us in advance so we can discuss how best to support your visit.
